LOW POWER is what internet of things is all about. We want our sensors to take some samples during the day and send the data to our cloud, we would also like that our sensor run on battery for more than 8 months. Some sensors might be on a remote area that just sending someone to change a battery every month will not be cost effective.
For that problem, we have a solution and it is called Sigfox. Low Power and it will last for Months. On this experiment that I will show you. We have an Arduino which is in command and is responsible of sending data and also to put the Sigfox Module Wisol WSSFM10R2 to sleep. For test purposes, we are only measuring the current of consumption of the Wisol module.
As you can see the deep sleep current consumption is 0.19 uA. It will save you lots of battery on your project.
